My body hates cymbalta, but my body hates most meds. I hope you go for the lyrica, it's more fibro specific than the cymbalta is.
I'm glad the cyclo is working for you again. Taken with the Vicodin it should help until you get to see the doc again.

I don't get to go for anything- I am at the whim of the VA protocol. So it will be whichever THEY want me to have.

Okay, so, Thursday the doctor upped my cymbalta from 60 mg to 30 mg, took me off gabipetin, and put me on Lyrica. I started the Lyrica Friday night - I'm supposed to do 75 mg at night for four days, and then beginning the 5th day, take it morning AND night.
I don't know if it's upping cymbalta (which had been working great) or switching to Lyrica, but suddenly, I'm so exhausted, I can't describe it any other way than "bone tired." I've also been fighting headaches for two days straight, my brain is just a giant jumble, and I feel shaky. I don't think I'm outwardly shaking, but I just feel like I'm one giant fast-paced tremor.
I'm going to go ahead and try upping the Lyrica tomorrow, but if this goes badly, I'm back on the doctor's doorstep this week.
Originally he was going to move me immediately to Savella after gabi, but for some reason, we're going the Lyrica route. So far, I don't think I like it. Admittedly, I'm not as sore. But I also completely and utterly do not feel like myself at the moment.

Lyrica is known to make people zombified. But you should eventually get used to it. Gabapentin, which is similar, turned me into a zombie, and I did, eventually level out.
Although, upping the Cymbalta at the same time can't be helping. I don't think it was very sensitive, or smart, for your doctor to do that. How can you even know which one is helping or causing you side effects, if they do it that way? It seems a little ham-fisted.
Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks, Nico. I do feel a bit more evened out today, but still ... bleh.
Also got my blood work results back. In 2009, everything was pretty much normal except my ANA, which was only slightly elevated. Apparently now, my CRP factor is high and my ANA has doubled.
So ... bad to a rheumatologist. I asked them to NOT send me to the same one last time if at all possible. He only looked at me, did the tender point test, and said I might have fibro, but he suspected I njust needed to get more sleep and lose weight. Oh, and lose weight. And don't forget, lose weight. I wanted to punch him.

Getting more sleep is a fucking treatment FOR FUCKING FIBRO! GAWD!
That's why the usual first assault they do is muscle relaxers TO HELP YOU SLEEP! Of course you're going to FEEL FUCKING BETTER IF YOU SLEEP MORE! The whole point to fibro treatment, according to my rheumatologist is to be as pain-free as possible so one can walk and talk and work and do things like a normal person. And that includes some kind of exercise.
Fuck losing weight. I'm going to stay fat and live a good life to fucking spite the goddamn "lose weight" patrol.
Now that I have that off my chest, isn't changing up any medicine cause for your body to act exhausted or zombied?

Ah, Patty, I loves ya!
Haven't heard from the doc yet, but vibes please that I DON'T get Dr. Bagheri! I noticed in my last post I said "bad to a rheumatologist," instead of "back to..." There I go, dancing around in my Freudian slip again.
I'm also accepting that I may just be a butterball the rest of my life, but f*ck it. As a big chick, I'm still hotter and more stylish than most folks, and they wish they could be as awesome awesome as me! (good self esteem day, even if I do want to fall asleep while writing this, and have to keep going back and fixing typos).
And if sleep is a good fibro treatment, then yay, I accidentally treated myself for fibro in a bathroom stall earlier! /snicker Ah well, could be worse!
I ended up talking to the secretaries, filing assistant, and regulatory managers I work the most closely with, as well as my supervisor, and explained that I'm going to be foggy for 2 - 4 weeks and, well, if they notice me zoning out or forgetting things, to smack me upside the head with a brick to get my attention back where it needs to be.
Heard a horror story from my secretary today about her sister, who's 45, has fibro, DIDN'T take care of herself, and is now living in a nursing home because she CAN'T take care of herself. Damn.

You know, I lost weight and slept more and fucking cured my cancer.
Seriously though, every single person on this planet would benefit from consistently sleeping well, so ... shut up, doctor. If sleep were the issue, everyone would be at the fucking doctor.
Every person who is overweight would also feel better if they just "lost some weight", but it would not magically cure their goddamned fibromyalgia, or lupus, or rheumatoid arthritis, or whatever the hell else people have that you are too lazy to look for you over-paid bag of water.
I'm in a bad mood, so I'm going to yell at someone elses stupid doctor, lol.

On the thread of idiot drs. My regular doc is on maternity leave. I had to see one of her associates and the bitch told me if I had a better diet and exercised my fibro would go away. Um excuse me? Better diet? Exercise? I have a pretty healthy diet, I don't really eat out (though we have ordered pizza a few times recently) I walk all day at work and occasionally in the evenings. I had to quit working out because the fibro got so bad I could barely get out of bed in the mornings. It struck after I had lost 20+ lbs, was working out 3 - 4 times a week and eating very healthy with tracking every single thing that went into my mouth. Now? I can't work out because I don't have a gym membership any longer, as the gym closed, and I'm on light duty restrictions due to a work injury. All of which are in chart notes, if she bothered to read it.
