Thanks for everything, people! I think I love you guys and gals!

Things went very well, even better than the best case scenario the doctor and I had talked about! Already bearing most of my weight, using a walker for balance.
Percoset is awesome, my pain is at a very manageable level with it. The PT hurts like a bitch, but that was expected.
The staff at the hospital was great!
So, all is well, just the recovery to work on.

Glad to hear it!
Did you ever have to think about me naked?

Only when they were putting the IV in. Honestly, that was the worst part.

Well, I'm glad I was of some use.
I'm with you on the IV insertion - they make you dehydrate yourself so it's impossible to get a vein to pop out properly, then the person giving you the IV always seems to be learning. It's always, always torture for me, because they smack and smack and smack at me, and I'm like, "Hello! I have fibromyalgia, you are fucking killing my skin. If you aren't someone who can get this in one stick, go find someone who can."
I never say that, I promise. But I want to.

Nico, what the nurse who put my iv in did was to wrap my arm in a warm wet towel to get the vein to pop, instead of hitting my hand.
I'm hard to get a needle in even when fully hydrated, but she managed it first try. You might want to have the next person who needs to do a blood draw try that . . .

For all the times I've had to get an IV, and how difficult my veins are to get at, I'm surprised no one's tried that trick with me before. I'll definitely suggest it if I ever have to get another surgery or procedure done again, thanks!

What they usually do for me is take a glove filled with really warm water and set it on top of the area where they are going to draw blood from. It does perk up the veins. I also have them do the IV's and blood draws from my hand rather than my arm. The veins in my arms roll away and have been abused by being poked so many times.

How's it going? I saw over on the other place you don't feel healed enough already.

Oh, I feel very healed. I'm in the stage where I feel I should be doing more than I can.
It's mostly cabin fever at this point. With the snow and the cane, I can't walk around the lake. My boyfriend is in Milwaukee, and I can't get up there (snow, cane, lack of funds), so mostly I'm just impatient.
I have almost a full bend. I can't quite touch my heel to my butt, but I'm not far from it. The skin over the scar is still very tender - even my jeans over it most days hurts, but the only way to toughen it is to get through it.
I hardly used any of the percocet they prescribed me, and rarely even need the tylenol. I know I'm doing well, just, very, very impatient.

How big is the scar? Because mine was tender/weird-feeling for almost a year. I had my knee replacement in March (2009) and spent the Spring/Summer wearing loose yoga/workout pants. I also got some black PJ pants that when worn with the right top and shoes, looked like dress pants. (I didn't like those because despite being comfortable, they had no pockets!). It was probably December or even January that I was able to wear jeans without thinking about my scar. I wore them anyway- of course- but it bugged me to pieces. ~Picture of my scar from last March~ (that'd make it one year old in the photo).

It's about 3 1/2 inches long, right over the top of my knee cap. I'd take a pic, but my camera's packed.
I'd really rather go around in shorts or skirts, even the pajama pants and the yoga pants irritate it if worn too long. Unfortunately, the weather we've been having makes that hard.
