Stupid, f'ing, g-damn, mother-f'ing shoulder! About three days ago it started hurting, and I didn't think too much about it. I just thought I slept on it funny. Now here I am, and I can't raise my arm enough to bring my hand up to my head and scratch it. I lift my arm to scratch my cat's head and my shoulder screams.
It's my right shoulder, which is unusual, because my left shoulder is the one that's been damaged so many times, car wrecks and the like. But this feels much different than that. This feels like it's the actual joint and the tendons around it.
I didn't actually do anything that I can think of, it just started hurting.
ARGH!!!!!
Okay, I done ranting now. ;D

I've done that before, just woken up and my shoulder hurt like hell. And Liz, you don't need to censor yourself, you are allowed to say "stupid, fucking, motherfucking shoulder"
Have you tried the alternating heat/ice therapy on it? that helps some people. For me it was bursitis, which still will flare on occasion. Go to the Doc and see if he can order PT or a massage for it. Or let Joe massage it if you can handle him doing it.

I have tendinitis in my shoulder (my right one) and it flares up from sleeping wrong and weather changes. The "treatment" is pretty much was that ACDC lady ( )above said- alternating heat/ice and rest or massage. Also, raising my arm up by putting my hand on my hip sometimes relieves the pressure of the tendon pressing on the nerve.

We do have both a heating pad and an ice pack, so perhaps I will give it a try. I don't know if any massage will help though, since it is definately not a muscle issue. I can just tell the difference from the pain, and the way it moves.
If it keeps up any longer I will be calling the doc. Having a painful right shoulder makes driving a stick shift very difficult! Almost as bad as when I had left knee troubles.

So yesterday was bad at work. I was stuck on dining room and that meant a lot of lifting and moving around. My shoulder was on fire when I came home. Today, it was even worse. My shoulder hurts worse than ever.
I have an appointment with my doc on Thursday. I'm hoping some strong pain pills are in my future, and hopefully a note saying I can't do dining room until we figure out what's going on.
