I'm sure I'm a fool for feeling this way, for thinking this way, but it always makes me feel strange taking benefits from being disabled. From extra time on tests in school, to extra funding for college or whatever. I know I "deserve it", and I'm going to have to use it because I have to, but it makes me feel like I can't do it on my own, or that I'm getting something that I didn't earn.
I would rather get this stuff because I earned it, not because I was born differently.

Many people feel the way you do. It took me 2 years to accept a parking placard.
I can't walk for more than about 20 feet without stopping to rest for a few and i still can't bring myself to use one of those motorized shopping carts.
You also see so much fraud in the system and you feel bad even if you legitimately need the help.
It's the pushing down the pride and accepting the help that can be the hardest. At least for me.
Also the feeling like you aren't as good as others because you didn't have to work as hard as you perceive they did.
Some days you have to work hard just to hold a conversation, other days you are a chatterbox. It's ok. So do what you can when you can and just because you were born differently does NOT mean you didn't have to work just as hard as others. You just work differently.

A very understandable and normal feeling on the matter actually. So I would certainly not call you a fool, just someone who wants to make their mark in their own way, on their terms and without the feeling of being a "charity case".

But what if i don't want it..in junior high they would take me out of my normal class and sit in me in a different room to take a test and get extra time, i never needed it, but i had to sit there a stare at the wall because some paper somewhere said i needed time and a half to take a test, when my disability has nothing to do with my intelligence or learning skills.

You are an adult now, you only need accept the help if you feel it is necessary. You have the option of saying "Nope, i can do this in the regular amount of time allowed"

Then use the extra benefits to find a way to move out.
