I was on Lexapro for about seven years. I never had any adverse side affects to it beyond an increased appetite, though even when on high doses it didn't really seem to help very much. Anyone else ever have similar or wildly different encounters with Lexapro? Or any other meds?

Lexapro is an anti depressant.

I had a boyfriend on Lexapro recently. He was awesome...until he went off his meds and refused to go back on them. He became a completely different person on his meds. It was that guy R that cheated on me after he went off of it...anywho...
I was on Lithium for a year or so after they figured out that I'm bi-polar. I hated how it made me feel, but they had me on a super high dose, but I managed to get off of that medication after my run in with the law...I'm a completely different, much better me now.

It was a really bad, bad time. My ex (not R, two boyfriends before him) and I were going through a particularly nasty breakup and were arguing and his sister's stupid friend (whom I would like to rip her facial piercing out and watch her bleed out...I'm an angry little creature) decided that she didn't like that he and I were arguing and called the sheriff on us. The sheriff got there after I broke my middle knuckle on my right hand by punching the wall beside the stupid chick instead of punching her and getting assault charges. All that happened was that he asked me to leave. After that, I went off my lithium and I've been less suicidal and less violent ever since.
She claimed to have her psychology degree...which is part of why I don't trust psychologists.

let me get this straight. you got an assault charge for hitting the wall beside someone. now i'm not a lawyer, nor to i play one on tv, but something about that doesn't sit well with me.

You can actually get an assault charge for yelling obscenities at someone. I was almost arrested for throwing a full glass of water (just the water, not the glass) at my ex husband, because it's assault. Any action that could be perceived as aggressive towards another being could be considered assault in a court of law.

I think what happened was she punched the wall to avoid getting an assault charge and was just asked to leave.

Yeah, I punched the wall avoiding her and the charges. My then boyfriend and I were arguing as we usually did, if that shebeast had never called the cops, we would've finished our argument as we always did. They heated up really fast and cooled off just as fast. She was an outsider who had no right since we weren't anywhere near her, talking to her, or involving her in any way. I still hope someone rips that septum (sp?) ring from her face like on Bride of Chucky.
I guess it's a good thing that she wasn't as smart as she thought she was, or my teaching career would be over with an assault charge on my record.

I don't know about lexapro or most of those drugs. I do know that listening to Marilyn Manson while on Dayquil is an interesting experience.

From what I understand, lexapro was good for the only person I know of that took it. I don't know a whole lot of people who are on meds that talk about it, other than myself and my ex. If he'd go back on his meds and stay on them, he would be a good guy. It's crazy how medication can either vastly improve quality of life (his case), drastically make it worse (mine), or just make it bearable in still some others.
