Some of you know me already. For those that don't, I'm Auntie Witch in several places online.
All my issues are mental. I've got PTSD from childhood abuse, probably have PTSD from domestic violence, have battled anxiety and depression, have a life-threatening phobia, and am probably ADHD to boot. In 2008 I lost my mother to a two and a half long battle with breast cancer.
I don't know what my job is (long story) but I work in an elementary school where I mostly do paperwork and testing for the SPED department.
Others could probably describe me better than I can in other regards; I know what I'd LIKE to say, but reality and perception aren't always in the same room.

You may say anything you like here. Welcome to the board. You are not the "token head case" I have PTSD from a car accident, so i cringe at odd moments too.
This forum is for you to use as you need, bitch about work, frustrations with kids, etc. also, you can brag about your kids, your successes with work and so on.
This board is for letting it out, if you bury it, it hurts more.

I have PTSD, too! I don't know why I'm so excited about it. Well, I guess I'm happy to be able to say, "hey, you don't have to think you're the 'crazy one' in the group." Welcome. I'm sure we can relate to each other on some of our PTSD issues. I don't want to immediately start bugging you like, "oh, do you have this?" though, so I'll just say hi. Hi.

I have many of the symptoms of PTSD, but the therapist I saw wasn't comfortable diagnosing it. She did give me awesome coping mechanisms, though, so I'm ok with it.
As for headcases . . . I think we all are, all 7 billion of us!

I have ptsd as well from childhood sexual abuse, having a mother with Paranoid Schizophrenia w/violent outbursts, and verbal and physical abuse from my (ex) husband as an adult. I'm twitchy too, lol. So don't feel alone, there's lots of us out there!
I also suffer from Fibromyalgia and a host of other non debilitating issues.

i dont have ptsd, but i have head issues all my own, including issues dealing with anger, stress, and anxiety, the first from a mother that when not yelling at me for all my faults, was giving me all these high set goals that to me all i could do was fail as some if not all of them. the others from being picked on and having a really hard time communicating because of my stutter (i'm sure everyone here is tired of me talking about it though). so you're not alone, you have us to lean on when stuff gets a little hard to bear alone.

This board is for letting it out, if you bury it, it hurts more. And then it festers and itches, and you scratch at it, then it gets even more infected and who the hell wants to go to the doctor for that? Yes, I use humor and sarcasm to deal with things... but then, you know me so you know that.

Welcome, Auntie Witch. I don't have PTSD (nor do I play it on TV), but I am very familiar with anxiety and depression. (((Hugs))) to you and I hope you stick around

Welcome, and just be you. This is not the *other board* we go to, so don't worry about the atmosphere from there following here.
I love hearing about kids antics, and yours are going to be welcomed here with open arms. You can even start your own thread, just to simulpost your Facebook postings if you like.
We will be your shoulder when you miss your mom and can't let it out because you need to be strong for your family. We will be your strength when coworkers tear you down. We will be there to spring you when your kids end up driving you to the asylum.
We've all been there in our own ways, and can relate with our own experiences.
Glad i could make you smile, you need a cape Supermom.

Unfortunately, given so many things I cannot get into here, I can't complain about work here. I posted a few locked-to-snopesters only statuses a while back that hinted at problems. Let's just say, problems aren't solved yet. I won't know what classroom to go to when I return from Christmas break. I can, however, rant that I was pissed and formally complained about the kids singing the Christmas Shoes song, got ignored, and then during rehearsal three of the kiddos I complained on behalf of did exactly what I thought they would during that song.

As everyone else has said, you're definitely not the token head case. The older I get, the more I realize there is no such thing as normal, just varying degrees of abnormal. S'all good!

Today at work I was talking to my very good friend, who is autistic. I mentioned some of the things that I worry about as an example of how extreme my anxiety is, and she said, "Oh, don't worry. That's normal. I do it all the time."
I laughed and pointed out that being autistic, she wasn't exactly the dipstick for normal.

You're not, and that was the root of my complaint.
