Yeah, that's about it. I have this pain in my back, between the shoulder blade and spine. I'm pretty sure it's a knot in the muscle. It feels like someone is stabbing me in the one spot with a roundish object and kinda twisting it at the same time. The pain has steadily gotten worse over the day, and at one point I had the pain radiating down my arm and causing a numb-ish stabby feeling in my hand. Luckily, I'm right handed, as this is all happening on my left. Just sitting here typing is becoming more and more painful. I'm fully annoyed and absolutely in pain. Damn it. And of course, I can't take anything until about 9:45, which for us, is in about an hour and 10 min. Damn it..... Damn it! damn it! damn it!

I had to wait to take it because of when I take my other half to work, lol! but I like going by your rules, heh heh... I can't take anything and drive. I'm night blind and it's icky weather, so that really would be a horrific combo... muscle relaxer + inclement weather + crappy car + night blind = NO THANKS! lol

i think that equals a thrilling and heart racing adventure. like a rollercoaster but with more possible death and (hopefully) less high altitudes.

I have the same knot (started from a minor injury many years ago), Winter, and it's a bitch. Sometimes it makes me want to run backwards into a doorknob.

I have the same knot (started from a minor injury many years ago), Winter, and it's a bitch. Sometimes it makes me want to run backwards into a doorknob. YES!!! Omg... yes, that's exactly what I'd like to do. The massage therapist has been working on it for two weeks now. it's still there. I was in also in an accident and had upper back, neck and right shoulder injury. I was rear ended at 45 mph while sitting at a stop light. Pushed me into the jeep in front of me. It's been 10 years since my accident...

I've had some relief with steroid injections. The upside is that if they work for you, relief can last for several weeks. The downside is that they can be uncomfortable to get (I personally didn't find them terrible, but it's different for everyone) and some people get headaches from steroids.
I've also gotten marcaine injections, which immediately took the knot out - but they are very temporary. If you go home and do a little housecleaning, you could pull the knot back up again.
