When i was 18 years old, and four and a half months pregnant i had my life taken away from me. Someone fell asleep at the wheel and hit me head on. The accident broke my left thigh badly enough that i needed a titanium rod put in, it's from hip to knee. The accident broke parts of my face, teeth and my hand. I also went into labor.
They stopped the labor and my daughter came through with no problems at all. I, on the other hand, have been in chronic pain ever since it happened.
15 years of pain, then i add to it by taking a tumble last March (2010) and screw up the superficial poroneal nerve in the same leg that the rod is in. The nerve is so damaged that it is hypersensitive to the point that raindrops make it scream. I now have to walk with a cane 100% of the time.
I also have a myriad of other things wrong with me, which i'm sure will be divulged in conversations as time goes on.

Enough about me, let's discuss you. This forum is for all of us. those of us who hurt. In our heads, in our bodies, in our hearts. I created this forum so that we could have a place to share, vent, complain and give and receive support. No two people are the same, no two journeys into pain are the same.
This is not a competition, some of us hurt more than others, BUT everyone's pain is important and needs respect. If you are a 15 year old who is overwhelmed with life and just can't stop cutting to deal with it, this is the place for you. You will find others who have been through the same and have come out the other side. If you are a 30 year old who has all these painful symptoms and your doctor doesn't seem to be able to figure them out, you will meet others who have been there as well.
Find support, friends, share a few laughs, cry a few tears. We are all in this together.
