When dealing with the depression that normally accompanies any sort of pain, what do you do that seems to help?
I laugh. I find the funny in even the smallest things. A bee falling off a flower. My son pouring a can of coke into the recycle bin instead of the sink.
Somedays it's one day at a time, other days it's one minute at a time.
What do you do that gets you through that Dark Place that pops up and punches us in the head once in awhile?

I start flipping through the photos of our vacation to Hawaii and imagining I'm there again. I found a website that has a recording of the Coqui that I'll play while looking at photos. I need to get a copy of that... That's what I need... sounds of Hawaii on cd/mp3 so I can have my happy place on the go! ha ha ha

I usually end up trying to sleep until it passes. I'm not so good at cheering myself up, however I'm marvelous at cheering others up. It makes no sense at all. Sometimes though, I just read.

I'm with Miss Heather, I sleep, alot. And when I can finally drag my butt out of bed, I read, and write..I tend to do my best writing in that darkness, don't ask me why.

The darkness is like a blanket that you can hide in, yet still see through. The darkness on the outside can easily be a release for the darkness on the inside.
(dammit i'm sounding like Yoda again)

Or like Dumbledore at the end of a book.
